HAZOPs/ SIMOPS

Aztec Engineering has the training to lead HAZOP studies.  HAZOP studies provide a systematic approach to look at each part of a process and possible deviations that can happen to that part.  Classes of deviations that are examined include negative, quantitative and qualitative substitutions.

Ninety percent of deviations identified are not confined to safety.  These can also affect operability, product quality and productivity.  HAZOPs are best performed at the design stage before construction has started.

Simply put, SIMOPS are two or more operations that take place at the same time in the same area.  Without proper execution, SIMOPS may clash and cause problems in production.  In order to avoid such problems, we facilitate coordination studies and meetings.  This allows us to align work efforts of simultaneous drilling, completions and facility construction in a safe and cost-effective manner.  Advancements in modular design combined with strict SIMOPS planning has led to drastic reductions in production schedules.
