As a long time Peace Country resident, Jason began his career operating farm and heavy equipment for his family business near Spirit River. He then operated steam, hydro-vac and picker trucks. Jason started operating oil and gas wells as a contract operator with Sundance Ventures, developing his applied background and understanding of the oil and gas industry prior to university. Jason worked at Aztec Engineering (Formerly Fimrite Engineers), AGTL on a pipeline directional drill and Bantrel on an upgrade of the Crude-Vac and Coker Tower at the Petro-Canada Refinery in Edmonton. He also worked at the BA Energy Upgrader in Fort Saskatchewan and at the Albian Sands Mine for Bird Construction.
Jason returned to Aztec Engineering to work with mentor, Jason Fimrite, as a Project Engineer and Construction Manager. In 2009, Jason Kolosky and Tex Fimrite purchased Aztec Engineering. Since becoming an owner, Jason has worked to secure the presence of the Grande Prairie based engineering firm by engaging growing clients and expanding the role of engineering services offered locally to the region. Jason is focused on building the careers of his team and supporting communities in the Peace Region.
